Contouring the spirit of cross-institutional collaboration and capacity building, the fourth talk in The Brown Bag Seminar Series focused on “New Diagnostic tools and techniques in HIV” by Dr. Sanjay Sarin. The aim of the seminar series is to inform and build capacities & knowledge of programme managers at NACO, community, development partners and key stakeholders. The seminar series serves as a gateway for knowledge sharing, open dialogue, cross learning on new developments and programme management. The talk highlighted the need to introduce newer technologies and improve algorithms to differentiate between recent and past infections as well as to look at both centralised and POC technology options and novel service delivery models to rapidly scale up VL testing in India. The talk focused on diagnostic challenges and novel strategies to mitigate the challenges and sustain the successes with HIV program in India.
