Evidence generation and evidence based response form the cornerstone of the National AIDS Control Programme. The National AIDS Control Organisation along with the Indian Council of Medical Research organised the “National Workshop to Identify Strategic Research Priorities to achieve 90-90-90 Targets for HIV/AIDS” in collaboration with UNAIDS and CDC-PEPFAR on 9th November 2017 at New Delhi. The objective of this workshop was to identify strategic priority areas for research in the context of 90-90-90 targets for HIV/AIDS. Strategic research priorities pertaining to prevention, basic services & STIs, treatment and viral suppression were identified. Based on the strategic priority areas that have been identified through this Workshop, NACO would endeavour to build partnerships and have synergies with various key stakeholders in HIV/AIDS Research e.g. ICMR and its institutions, other premier institutions conducting HIV/AIDS research, Dept. of Bio Technology, our development partners, civil society and community - to achieve the last mile.
