Contouring the spirit of cross-institutional collaboration and capacity building, the sixth talk in The Brown Bag Seminar Series focused on “Returning to the path of global leadership in HIV response” by Dr. Swarup Sarkar, Director, Department of Communicable Diseases (CDS), WHO SEARO. The aim of the seminar series is to inform and build capacities & knowledge of programme managers at NACO, community, development partners and key stakeholders. The seminar series serves as a gateway for knowledge sharing, open dialogue, cross learning on new developments and programme management. There have been major successes in global fight against AIDS and in just 36 years after the first few cases were detected, we are aiming to End AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. The talk highlighted that as the scenario of epidemic is changing and donor funding is declining, it is important to think of strategies by which India can continue to provide leadership in global response to HIV towards ending AIDS by 2030.
