Theme: ‘Assessment of Nutritional status among PLHIV’.

Contouring the spirit of cross-institutional collaboration and capacity building, the ninth talk of the Brown Bag Seminar Series was organized on 24th January 2018 at NACO. The aim of the brown Bag seminar series is to inform and build capacities & knowledge of programme managers at NACO, community, development partners and key stakeholders.

The speaker of the said seminar was Dr. Prema Ramachandran, Director of Nutrition Foundation of India, New Delhi and who spoke on the topic titled ‘Assessment of Nutritional status among PLHIV ‘. During the talk Dr. Premachandran spoke on the importance of accurate measurement of anthropometric indices and computation of BMI and Hb estimation both at the initial registration of PLHIVs and as a part of the follow up; and how these data may give us useful information on clinical course of HIV infection which when combined with lab studies can assist in deciding appropriate modification of management.

Various stakeholders including Programme managers from NACO/SACS, representatives from Community and Development partners attended the event.
